Broken Circle
Stood the stones for three thousand years, unyielding monoliths,
Eye of the Moon goddess, the immortal one.
Came men from distant shores, wisdom of the Order to learn,
Learned and sage, sons of the moon and sun.
Blood of the chosen ones, the stones did stain, mute witness,
True signs, of sorrow and pain.
First fruits, of the fields, of the herds, and also of the tribes,
Given in joy, and in reverence slain.
Jealous were the demons, of the tithes thus paid to the Moon,
Fair and wise, so it was spoken.
Chariots and war bands did they send, to maim and rend,
Lost now be our tribe, our circle broken.
Hall of the Sea King In the hall of the Sea King, were gathered his thanes. Mighty men all. Horns of mead, platters of roast, the tables did fill, Of the warm hall. Tales of the wars, and deeds of the gods, were told by the bard, Holding his fine lyre. At his feet, were the young, eager to hear, songs of old, As they set by the bright fire. Herbs gathered in the darkness of night, water from the river Styx, Gathered under the full moon. Great wealth garnered the witch, lady of darkness, spawn of evil, Silver and gold. Jilted lovers, second sons in search of wealth, by death of the true heir, All would be sold. Youth, all did seek, the key to love and joy, gold and power, Many sought an omen.
